About Woodcote Yoga Classes
These classes cater for all levels of fitness. The aim is to start from where you are and enjoy your own personal development. Students are encouraged to practice in accordance with their own ability, so if you aren't fit - don't worry, you don't have to compete, just listen to your own body and enjoy the experience. Modifications and alternatives are always offered.
The sessions start with gentle moves to mobilise and warm up, followed by some static and dynamic posture work. There are also sequences that are designed to encourage students to use their breath to deepen moves. Each session ends with specific work on breath and a guided relaxation. The aim is for everyone to leave at the end the class feeling calm and de-stressed!
There's no dress code - just wear something loose and comfortable, with layers that can be taken off if necessary.
Bring a mat if you have one, but there are always some spare for beginners. Also bring a blanket or something similar to put over you for relaxation at the end of the class.
To get the most out of your practice, and to avoid discomfort, it is best to avoid eating before the class.
